happy birthday mandela!

Mandela turned 22 yesterday Sept 6. It was a very low key event, we just went out to the lunch chinese buffet, went to the mall and then church. we were going to go to the casino but i felt sleepy around 11 pm so we skipped that, which was just as well, since i was pretty tired....

we were pretty stuffed after indulging in all the good food, and ideally i would have gone to naptime, but the mall beckons! i hope mandela had fun, even though it was his first birthday without his dad...it was a little tough for me...the more holidays come and go, the more i realize he is gone and i miss him so much. so today, the day after his birthday, i am fixing him a dinner of spaghetti and cake and jamila and i plan to sing happy birthday to him since we didn't get to do it at the buffet yesterday....
