How lucky

Matthew told Mandela to first, take care of your mom, and second, take care of yourself. it was heartbreaking to experience what could be the last time mandela will be spending with his dad when he's still feeling ok. Matthew said, "the next time you see me, i may be really really sick." i told mandela what an opportunity he has to be able to tell his dad how much he loves him. how lucky he is - some people never have this chance when a person they love gets taken away so suddenly. I never had a chance to tell my brother how much I loved him before an aneurism took him away at 25 years old. God has given us another chance to make it up to Matthew...what a gift this is that He has given us. To be able to spend every day and to make the most of it - that is a blessing and a miracle.

although cancer eats away at the body, it seems to make the heart and soul grow stronger - not only in the patient but in the family. your stregnth will lift you through this and beyond. Know that there are many many out there who love you and keep you both in their hearts.
